Christopher J. Kyler

Education
Chris Kyler received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Brigham Young University, and his Juris Doctor degree from the J. Reuben Clark Law School. In law school Chris was designated a national member of the Order of Barristers for achieving excellence in courtroom advocacy. He is licensed to practice law in Utah and California. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the American Society of Association Executives.
Experience
Chris is not only a full-time lobbyist, but is also serving as General Counsel and CEO for the Utah Association of Realtors. In the Firm's government relations practice, Chris is responsible for creating and managing the legislative advocacy efforts of his clients, including legislative drafting, campaigning, fund-raising, PAC money disbursement, and lobbying. He is also a frequent speaker in meetings across Utah where he helps business leaders and their staff members better understand the legal and political issues facing their industries. |
Mark J. Kohler

Education
Mark received his Bachelors of Accounting degree and his Masters of Taxation Degree from the University of Utah. He graduated from Willamette University Law School. He is licensed CPA in Oregon, Utah and Arizona and is member of the Utah Bar and practicing attorney.
Experience
Mark has not only pursued education, but the valuable experience of owning a number of businesses in order to specialize in the complex areas of business, estate and tax planning. Additionally, Mark has worked for the accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick in Portland, Oregon, clerked for the Oregon Tax Court, and a member or partner of three law firms before establishing Kyler Kohler & Ostermiller, LLP. Mark has also published his first book this year in 2007, and is a well known national speaker in the areas of business, estate and tax planning.

Bryan R. Kohler

Education
Bryan received his Political Science degree from the University of Utah. He then earned his MBA and Juris Doctorate degree from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon.
Experience
He has served as CEO for the Salt Lake Board of Realtors since August 2002. Bryan's duties include serving as Executive Vice President, directing the 14 person professional staff and managing the budget. He also directs the board's Governmental Affair Committee that is responsible for developing cooperative relationships with local and state officials. Prior to his appointment with the Salt Lake Board, Bryan was a practicing attorney with Gallian, Westfall, Wilcox & Welker in St. George Utah. While with this law firm he specialized in government affairs and employment laws. He is a member of the Utah State Bar Association. |
Michael J. Ostermiller

Education
Michael obtained a Political Science Degree from the University of Utah and was awarded a scholarship to attend law school at Brigham Young University.
Experience
Mike is both a partner in KKO Lawyers, but the CEO and Chief Lobbyist for the Greater Ogden Area Association of Realtors. Before coming to KKO Lawyers, he was an attorney with the St. George law firm of Barney & McKenna. As an attorney, Mike successfully resolved numerous cases for both real estate agents and others in the real estate profession. As a Lobbyist working daily in the real estate industry, Mike is extremely involved in local and state legislation advocating for better real estate law and speaking across Utah State trying to increase Realtors awareness of critical real estate issues. |
Mathew N. Sorensen

Education
Mat received his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Utah, where he was awarded the E. Rich Brewer Scholarship and graduated Phi Kappa Phi. He received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and was awarded a University Scholarship at entrance.
Experience
Mat has worked as a law clerk and in-house attorney for two large corporations where he handled business, tax and regulatory matters. He also worked as a prosecutor in the Utah Attorney General's Office where he prosecuted felony tax fraud case. Prior to law school, Mat worked as a Research Assistant at the Bureau of Economic Research. Mat is also a licensed Escrow Officer and one of the founding partners in Investor Quality Title, LLC, a sister company of KKO Lawyers and title company specializing in transactions for real estate investors. |
Brandon L. Baker

Education
Brandon Baker received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Campbell University while serving as an active duty member of the United States Marine Corps. During his undergraduate he was recognized on numerous occasions with the Presidents Award, and the Deans List. He graduated from Willamette University Law School, where he participated on the Moot Court Board and other Student Body activities and was the recipient of the Conley Scholarship.
Experience
Brandon's experience goes beyond education, beginning with his four years of service with the United States Marine Corps where he served a tour in Iraq, Kuwait, Okinawa, and Korea while earning the rank of sergeant in three years and earned a good conduct medal. Additionally, he has interned with the Legal Aid Society and a medical malpractice attorney before joining KKO. |
